SQW is working with Menon Business Economics to undertake a desk based review of barriers to SME formation and growth in sub-Saharan Africa, with a particular focus on three East African countries – Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania – and on access to finance for firms in the formal economy.
SQW was commissioned to undertake this pan-European research and dissemination project which is focused on local and regional initiatives for promoting energy efficiency through the direct and enabling roles of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). It involves the preparation of case studies, guidance and a wiki resource. SQW leads a partnership with ICLEI and the Regional Environment Centre (REC).
ANU's proposed campus development policy plan included the idea of utilising an undeveloped but environmentally sensitive part of the area as a research park. We were asked to work with senior university staff to develop a concept plan which identified clearly the objectives and prospective market orientation of the scheme, the scale and nature of development, allowable activities, outline organisation and management arrangements, and the broad resource implications to ANU.
