6th June 2012, Brunei Darussalam’s first roadmap and master plan for a sustainable land transportation system have been set in motion following a signing ceremony between the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) and the appointed UK-based consortium, SQW China, to commence a study on the matter.

21st October 2014, BASED on the findings in the National Master Plan for a Sustainable Land Transportation System For Brunei Darussalam conducted by the Centre for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS), a MRT or LRT system is not feasible for the country because of low population density and high price tag of the system.

Brunei to Overhaul Land Transport System

21st October 2014, BRUNEI will overhaul its land transport system under a new master plan that promises a more integrated, rapid and efficient transport network. The Land Transport Master Plan sets out to reduce car dependency by improving public transport, including a bus rapid transit system with four major lines operating across the Brunei-Muara district.

SQW China to undertake 12-mth study

6th June 2012, Consultants to research on sustainable land transport system, THE CSPS, in cooperation with the Ministry of Communication and Development, has commissioned a consultant, SQW China, for a study entitled “Review to Formulate a Roadmap and Draft Masterplan for a Sustainable Land Transportation System” in Brunei.
